Annual Wage Review decision by Fair Work Commission has resulted in a 2.5% wage increase effective 1 July 2021.
The Annual Wage Review panel has handed down its decision to increase the national minimum wage and minimum rates under modern awards by 2.5%.
This brings the national minimum wage to $772.64 per week ($20.33 per/hour) effective 1 July 2021.
Taking into account various economic considerations, the Annual Wage Review panel found that there were certain industry sectors covered by modern awards that had been impacted by the pandemic which warranted a delayed operative date.
The modern award wage increases will commence on 1 July 2021, with the exception of the following modern Awards:

Airservices Australia Enterprise Award 2016
Alpine Resorts Award 2020

Fitness Industry Award 2020
Hair and Beauty Industry Award 2010
Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2020
Live Performance Award 2020
Mannequins and Models Award 2020
Marine Tourism and Charter Vessels Award 2020
Nursery Award 2020
Racing Clubs Events Award 2020
Racing Industry Ground Maintenance Award 2020
Registered and Licensed Clubs Award 2020
Restaurant Industry Award 2020
Sporting Organisations Award 2020
Travelling Shows Award 2020

New Award wage schedules
Workplace Partners will in due course produce and make available to current clients a revised wage schedule, and will make every effort to ensure the new wage schedules are sent before 1 July 2021.We urge all employers to check their payroll obligations to ensure that you are meeting the minimum wage obligations under the Fair Work Act 2009 and modern awards.
